Abaki Beck (she/her/hers) earned her Master’s in Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis in May, 2020. She has extensive experience with qualitative research and data analysis in academic and community settings and in program evaluation design and implementation. She currently serves as co-chair of the Reentry Committee for Washington University’s Prison Education Project.

She is also freelance writer who focuses on Indigenous feminisms, Indigenous science and knowledge, and gender-based violence in Native communities. Her work regularly appears in Bitch, and has been featured in Yes! Magazine, Aperture, TalkPoverty, the Establishment and other outlets. She served on Bitch Media’s Writers Fellowship Reading Committee in 2018 and 2019. 

Abaki is the founder and editor of POC Online Classroom, a website that curates social justice readings, resources, and syllabi. She is also co-founder of the STL Reentry Fund, a mutual aid fund managed by formerly incarcerated people and allies in St Louis, Missouri.
